I was very fortunate to attend the 34th Annual Women in the Forefront Luncheon (The Chicago Network) with a few colleagues from National Louis University! It was a beautiful event with over 1500 women leaders from across the Chicagoland area.
Does the Perfect Mentor Really Exist?
Twice a year, I send a survey out to members of my online community to gauge where they are in terms of their career development.
In a past survey, I asked the members what challenges they were facing with growing their career. Many of them wrote that they needed help finding a good mentor. I became intrigued. I wondered why these women believed that this "hard-to-find" person was hindering their career growth.

2020 was hard.

Through it all, I cannot neglect the fact that 2020 has also brought some amazing blessings in various areas of my life.
For the last two years, I had been in a season of pause and waiting.

Many years ago, I knew that one day I would have my own personal website. Did I know what the purpose of this website would be? Absolutely not! In my head, I thought it would be pretty neat to be known by a mononym like my absolute fav, Aaliyah.
